I have compiled a series of tips and tricks that will help you to preserve your flowers for much longer.<\/p>\n
1. If you go shopping, buy the flowers last so that they arrive home as fresh as possible.<\/p>\n
2. Compra mejor a primera hora de la ma\u00f1ana. Rechaza las que est\u00e9n al sol y las que tengan varios d\u00edas. Si las flores las recoges del jard\u00edn, hazlo por la ma\u00f1ana temprano o al atardecer, sin calor. <\/p>\n
3. Puedes cultivar en el jard\u00edn especies aptas para Flor Cortada tanto Vivaces, como Perennes y Bulbosas. Por ejemplo:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Vivaces y Perennes: Aquilegia, Clavel del poeta (Dianthus barbatus), Crisantemo, Clavellina (Dianthus deltoides), Gerbera, Guisante de olor, Peonia, Strelitzia, Lila, Violeta,… Rosal (es un arbusto). <\/p>\n
– Bulbous plants: Lily, Freesia, Spikenard, Tulip,…<\/p>\n
4. It is advisable that when you get home with them, leave them for a couple of hours with the stems completely submerged in water so that they recover from the transfer and until the time comes to install them in the final vase.<\/p>\n
5. Arranca todas aquellas hojas que vayan a quedar sumergidas en el agua. <\/p>\n
6. Los floreros han de estar muy limpios. <\/p>\n
7. El florero de plata tienen un efecto antibacteriano y conservan las flores frescas durante m\u00e1s tiempo. <\/p>\n
8. A las flores no les gusta el manoseo. No ahueques el ramo cada dos por tres. <\/p>\n
9. Una vez que les hayas cortado el extremo de sus tallos en bisel, o aplastado ligeramente los que son le\u00f1osos, forma el ramo y ponlo en el jarro. <\/p>\n
10. Las flores en casa debes tratarlas como si fueran una planta de interior. Es decir, evita que le d\u00e9 el sol directo que entra por las ventanas, no las expongas a corrientes de aire, ni a temperaturas muy altas (lejos del calor de un radiador de calefacci\u00f3n), evita el ambiente seco, etc.. <\/p>\n
11. Las flores te durar\u00e1n m\u00e1s tiempo si por la noche las sacas al balc\u00f3n o a la ventana (si no hace mucho fr\u00edo, obviamente). O bien, que pasen la noche en una habitaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s fresca y con una ventana abierta. <\/p>\n
12. Venden conservantes para flores. <\/p>\n
Preservatives Used properly and in the right quantities, they can even double the life of the flowers. These products eliminate bacteria, thus avoiding the need to change the water in the vase daily. Simply maintain a constant level by adding fresh water from time to time.
13. Si no usas conservantes, cambia diariamente toda el agua del jarr\u00f3n y tambi\u00e9n recorta un poco los tallos a diario. El tema es que no se obturen los vasos conductores ni se infecten por bacterias. <\/p>\n
14. El m\u00e9todo cl\u00e1sico de echar una aspirina es v\u00e1lido, pero sale m\u00e1s caro que los conservantes. <\/p>\n
15. M\u00e1s trucos para conservar las flores:
\u2022 Echar un par de gotas de lej\u00eda al jarr\u00f3n (desinfecta). <\/p>\n
– Pour a splash of white vinegar.<\/p>\n
– Add a few drops of gin.<\/p>\n
– Use lemonade instead of water.<\/p>\n
– Deposit a copper coin.<\/p>\n

The trick of pouring sugar is not well considered because it clogs the ducts of the stem.<\/p>\n
16. Si las flores se marchitaran antes de tiempo, prueba a revivirlas mediante el procedimiento siguiente:<\/p>\n
1. C\u00f3rtales un poco los tallos.
2. Llena un florero con agua caliente.
3. Introduce en ella las flores y ponlas en un lugar oscuro.
4. Cuando el agua est\u00e9 ya fr\u00eda, puedes sacarlas y sustituir el agua caliente por agua fr\u00eda. <\/p>\n
17. Rosas<\/p>\n
Corta las rosas de tu jard\u00edn exactamente por encima de una hoja. El corte que tenga una inclinaci\u00f3n grande (en bisel). <\/p>\n
If you keep them out of the sun and change the water regularly, you can keep your roses for up to 15 days.<\/p>\n
Roses will last longer in the vase if you cut a small piece off the end of the stem every day.<\/p>\n
